Technology Workshop at Northeastern Junior College
In August, The Arc of Northeast Colorado offered a four-session technology workshop at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The workshop introduced eight participants from across the region to basic computer skills and coding using Code.org. The workshop was taught be Leticia Arguello, Advocacy Manager and Kandice Kramer, Community Outreach Advocate.
Over the course of four sessions, participants gained hands-on experience with coding activities that emphasized problem-solving and digital literacy. The program concluded with each participant designing a simple project, including a personalized dance party and a video game.
This workshop provided an accessible introduction to technology, while also giving participants the opportunity to build confidence in their abilities and explore new skills in a supportive learning environment.
The Arc of Northeast Colorado thanks Northeastern Junior College for its partnership in making this workshop possible.
