Hosted by The Arc of Northeast Colorado, the event highlights the talents and personalities of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities while helping break down stereotypes and encourage inclusion.
Redefining the Runway
Styles Beyond Stereotypes provides a space for people with disabilities to take center stage and show the community who they are.
Designers use creativity and vision to transform primarily thrifted materials into one-of-a-kind looks tailored for models with disabilities. On the runway, each model has the opportunity to express their personality, confidence, and individuality.
The result is an event that celebrates fashion while encouraging audiences to look beyond stereotypes and recognize the abilities and potential of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Our Mission
Styles Beyond Stereotypes aims to dismantle false stereotypes surrounding intellectual and developmental disabilities and help open doors to greater inclusion and opportunity.
Behind every diagnosis is a person with their own strengths, goals, personality, and potential. By fostering occasions for people with disabilities to be seen and celebrated, Styles Beyond Stereotypes encourages the community to recognize what is possible when everyone has the opportunity to belong.
